David Errington, President & CEO of NBRS-TACtv, NBRS Board of Directors and The Honourable Harinder Takhar, Thank VoicePrint Volunteer Broadcasters, Listeners and Supporters!
The Honourable Harinder Takhar, Minister of Government Services for the province of Ontario, was the special guest of honour at the Volunteer Appreciation Reception on Wednesday, August 5th at the Shamba Foundation in Toronto. Minister Takhar gave remarks and sincerely extended his appreciation on behalf of the Premier of Ontario, Dalton McGuinty.
On behalf of the NBRS Board, Chair John Capobianco thanked and welcomed attendees. New NBRS-TACtv President & CEO David Errington expressed his enthusiasm and appreciation for the commitment the volunteer broadcasters give on a day to day basis to help make media accessible. David presented the new vision for NBRS-TACtv outlining plans for Accessible Media Inc., which by 2010 will encompass all services, VoicePrint, AudioVision and The Accessible Channel-TACtv.
The event featured a town-hall style question and answer session with volunteers, including award-winning volunteer broadcasters, and VoicePrint-TACtv blind and vision-impaired listeners. All were thanked for their ongoing support.
We would like to extend our many thanks to Anthony Lacavera, President & Chairman, and his team at Shamba Foundation, the philanthropic Arm of Globalive Communications, for hosting the event location.
THANK YOU to all volunteers across Canada and to supporters on behalf of President & CEO, David Errington and the Team!
